Our experienced team provides comprehensive Primary Health Care Services including;

Diagnosis and management of acute and chronic medical conditions

ACC – accidents/injuries/Sports Medicine (We are all PRIME trained and support the local ambulance on urgent callouts – Dr. Tony Whitehead has trained in Sports Medicine and holds a Post-graduate Diploma)

Screening and preventive medicine (children, youth, women and men – immunisations /smears etc) – all our nurses are certified to do cervical smears – smears are free for all our enrolled patients.

Smoking cessation support.

Family planning – including fitting of Jadelle implants and IUCDs

Skin cancer medicine and surgery (Dr. Tony Whitehead holds the only Advanced + skin surgery contract in the Eastern BOP and does all the advanced + skin cancer surgery for the Kawerau/Edgecumbe/Whakatane/Opotiki region)

Occupational medical assessments.

WINZ Sickness Benefit, Disability Allowance certification

Insurance medicals.  

Immunisations and advice prior to travel

We have supported the Mountain View Rest Home since it’s inception and conduct weekly rounds in both the Hospital and Rest Home wings.

We facilitate the Tarawera High School clinic by supporting the school nurse with standing orders and weekly clinical meetings, and providing free visits to students referred by the nurse.

Laboratory Services, Pharmacy and Physio are available onsite.

Test results: We do not routinely contact you with results of tests you have had unless prompt action is required. If you want results of routine tests please phone 3238499 and ask to speak to the nurse.
